Vintage Knifewing pin inlaid with turquoise, coral, jet and white shell. The Knifewing is a revered symbol among the Zuni and is the hero of many folklore tales. He is represented in human bird form and his curved back is accented with silver feathers and two whimsical silver swirls sit at each shoulder. He wears a terraced black and white cap which represents his dwelling place among the clouds.
